BioSet® is a bone paste made of DBM in a gelatin carrier derived from Type 1 collagen, with osteoinductive and osteoconductive properties.
Allograft derived demineralized bone matrix (DBM) offers many of the elements essential for bone formation. DBM not only provides the natural scaffold for bone ingrowth, but it is also a source of a full range of Growth Factors (i.e., BMPs, TGFs) known to induce the osteoinductive signal1 for bone formation.
After accurate quality and safety screenings of donor’s tissue (Donor screening, seriological and microbiological testing) the bone matrix undergoes an exclusive demineralization and sterilization process, Cancelle™, which is designed and optimized to preserve protein bioactivity.
Moreover, to ensure the effectiveness of products , the osteoinductive* (OI) potential is verified by 100% lot testing both in vitro and in vivo the sterilization.
Safety and Quality
RTI meets FDA and AATB (American Association of Tissue Banks) requirements. RTI Biologics performs an accurate donor screening, followed by seriological , microbiological and mechanical testing.
Proven Ostoinductive potential
To verify the osteoinductive potential each lot undergoes extensive in vitro and in vivo after the sterilization.
Handling & Versatility
BioSet® is a malleable DBM that is non-water soluble and will maintain its implanted integrity during irrigation. BioSet® DBM utilizes a highly purified gelatin carrier derived from Type 1 collagen which firms at body temperature, resists migration and does not interfere with the bone formation process. Its versatility allows for hydration with several different fluids, including the patient’s own blood.
Wide range of formulations
BioSet® is available in a wide variety of formulations: pastes for injection, moldable pastes, strips, patchs, blocks with or without cortical-cancellous chips to meet every surgeon’s need.
